#YelpGetsFreaky

Standard

We had a wonderful time last night at the Yelp Gets Freaky party at the North Carolina Music factory.  So much so, that I wanted to share a few photos of the event with you guys.  Huge thanks to Nikki Wolfe and Yelp Charlotte for throwing an amazing event and letting us in on the boozy fun.

Also, huge thank you to Tonya with PopRock Photography for taking such great photos for us!

Halloween in the Queen City

Standard

I like to pretend that I love Halloween because I can watch Hocus Pocus and eat all the candy I want, don’t get me wrong, I like doing those things but I also like getting dressed up and partaking in what I call “adult trick-or-treating”. Judging by all the neat things going on this weekend, I’m not the only one.

Check out my recommendations of things to do around the QC this spooky weekend.

Music, Monsters and Mayhem: Featuring acts like Coolio and Tone Loc and over $5,000 in cash and prizes for the costume contest, I’d say that this has fun written all over it.  Lots of crazy drink specials and tickets get you into all the bars in the Music Factory.

If you’re looking for something a bit different, check out Solstice Tavern where they’ll have $5 Cabo Diablo or the Freak Show at Soul Gastrolounge, where you can find stilt walkers, the bearded lady, Solerno Cotton candy and lots of Aperol cocktails on the menu.

If you’ll be in LKN, you can find live music from Blue Monday and Skyy Vodka specials at The Rusty Rudder.  After the costume contest at Rudder, mosey across the street to On The Roxx, DJ Bob will be spinning all night and there will be plenty of Cabo Diablo to go around.

If you’re not too hungover from Friday night, Cabo Fish Taco in NoDa will be celebrating Day of The Dead all weekend long with $7 Espolon Margaritas.
