Y’all, it’s back and it’s bigger and better than last time.
Bear with me, because I am about to bring the party pain. Here’s the deal, go to liberateyourpalateclt.com and buy your passbook. Consider it your passport to flavor town, no really, with this book you can visit umpteen different bars and restaurants in Charlotte, have a $5 featured cocktail and collect your stamp. It’s that easy. The cocktail tour lasts from December 15th-March 15th, 2016, so think of it like a Christmas present to yourself.
As I mentioned before there are 23+ bars and restaurants participating like Kindred, Dogwood Southern Table, Kanvas Gallery and The Cellar at Duckworth’s, just to name a few.
To kick off this Winter Warmer session of the cocktail tour, we’re throwing a party so on December 15th, please join us at Bistro La Bon for a night of amazing food and damn fine cocktails.
“The Art of the Modern Cocktail Party is a craft cocktail and culinary collaboration with Chef Majid of Bistro La Bon, Chef Luca of Passion 8 and Chef Suppa of Vivace. Liberate Your Palate CLT challenged this all-star lineup of local chefs to take over the kitchen at Bistro La Bon and create 2 craft cocktails each along with pairing amuse-bouche inspired by the spirit of the Cheers to the Queen City Cocktail Tour”
Tickets for the event are $50 and every guest will get to taste each cocktail, sample delicious foods and mingle while a jazz quartet sends you to swanky town.

So I’ve already posted about the awesomeness that is Bob Peter’s Mixology lab on Saturday but I haven’t told you guys about this super cool dinner at Davidson Street Public House on the 18th.
Here’s the sitch, you can swing through DSPH and try any one of their featured dishes…all made with Jagermeister or Jagermeister spice. No really. How about a Jagermeister spice cake with pears and blood orange meringue? I was lucky enough to sample the cake this week, if you come in on the 18th, come just for the cake, seriously. Chef Clayton has outdone himself with a super creative menu that you’re guaranteed to love. See the photo below for proof of all the goodness!!!
As if stuffing your face wasn’t enough, bartender Frances has created some really great Jagermeister cocktails to choose from.
I really hope to see you guys out at DSPH on November 18th, its seriously gonna be fantastic.
I know there’s a handful of you that will read that headline and say “Hell No, Jager almost killed me in college, I’ll never drink it again”. I said the same things, and here I am tell you to come hang out with Bob Peters- Mixology Extraordinaire on Saturday 11/14.
Did you know that Jagermeister has 56 herbs and spices? Did you also know that Jagermeister Spice exists–with the same 56 herbs and spices just a little more of this and that to create a smoother taste?
Nope, bet you didn’t. Good news is Bob is here to tell you all of that and more, he’ll be discussing the flavor profiles of the products and deconstructing some of the ingredients. Attendees will also learn how to make really delicious Jagermeister cocktails that don’t include Redbull.
Here are the deets:
11/14 2:30pm (get there a bit early, seats fill up really quickly)
See y’all there!!
There are plenty of reasons to love spring, the warm weather, the cocktails and the new fruits and herbs to go with them.
Won’t you join us on Saturday May 9th at Earl’s Grocery for a mixology class with Bob Peters? Bob will be teaching us how to make spring inspired herbal infusions and syrups to add to our patio cocktails. See y’all at 2:30pm, don’t be late!

The ever amazing tiki-ologist (I don’t think that’s a word but I can’t think of a better way to describe Donnie Pratt). Donnie is known around Asheville for his delectable cocktails, he’s also one of the few who does Tiki very well. I got a preview of the cocktails he’ll be serving and they’re remarkable. He’ll be using rums like Appleton, Flor De Cana, and Sailor Jerry. He’ll also be making a concoction with Monkey Shoulder. Who knew you could have a Scotch Tiki drink?
Check out the photos above an below. Then go see what all the fuss is about on the 18th. I can’t make it, so go imbibe a little for me.
Look y’all, I know we get asked daily to vote for things, whether it be cutest baby or best in the city and I know it can be really annoying.
